Loss of Bladder Control Can Happen to Anyone, Celebrities Included

The loss of bladder control issues happen to many people, celebrities included.

Isn’t it nice to know that the people we look up to are human too?

And that they face the same challenges as we do?

I’ve shared several stories with you about famous people we all know and admire who have struggled with bladder control issues. Here I am going to share with you three more celebrities who have had bladder accidents and who are brave enough to share their experiences and feelings with us.

Hugh Jackman Lost Bladder Control On Stage

Let’s start with a man, and a man we all think of as a masculine role model: Hugh Jackman. Hugh is a highly successful stage and film actor, famous for playing Wolverine in the X-Men series. Hugh Jackman also starred in the film Les Miserables, where we learned he could sing too!

But earlier in his career, the Australian played Gaston in the stage production of Beauty and the Beast in Melbourne.

“The first show I ever did, singing and dancing, was Beauty and the Beast. I was playing Gaston. Gaston has red tights, knee high boots, and he’s very physical.

I had headaches every day for two months so I went to an astropath (a psychic) and he said ‘Well, you’re dehydrated.’ So of course (following his advice) I had four litres of water.

I go down to the stage, getting ready for my first number… and I’m like, I really need to go again.

[The routine is] the most cardiovascular song I’ve ever done: literally, I’m picking up Belle and as I pick her up, I stopped singing and right in that moment I realized the muscles you need to release in order to sing are the ones you do not want to release if you need to go.

I’m carrying her {over the shoulder} not singing and she’s going “What’s going on? What’s going on?”

It was then that Jackman carried her off stage without singing his number.

He had peed his tights.

Embarrassing for sure, but how great that Hugh is man enough to share his story with the world!

American Idol Judge Kara DioGuardi Had A Bladder Accident on Idol Finale

Singer-songwriter Kara DioGuardi spent one season as an American Idol judge.

She has released a new book with many fascinating and shocking stories and details about her life and career and was interviewed on radio to discuss it.

In the Season 8 American Idol Finale, Kara was asked to wear a bikini, which made her hugely uncomfortable.

As she put it, “it was live TV and first of all, I didn’t even want to go to the beach in my bikini, let alone in front of 25 million people.”

Kara went on to tell Ryan Seacrest on his radio show “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” that while she was reluctant, they offered her money for her charity so she felt like she had to do it. But she was so nervous she didn’t eat for about a week!

Thankfully, her manager “was smart enough to say, ‘Honey you ain’t wearing a white bikini, you’re wearing a black one cause I know you’re going to tinkle in it – you have that nervous thing.”

And he was right.

As Kara put it, “I totally did… It wasn’t a full on puddle it was just like a little… like I could’ve used a Depends under garment right there.”

Cheers to Kara for being brave enough to wear a bikini in front of 25 million people and for sharing that her nerves led her to have a little accident, something we can all relate to!

Glee Star Lea Michele Peed Her Pants Before Singing For President Obama

Lea Michele has sung on stage and screen and stars in the popular TV show Glee.

You’d think with all that experience, nerves would not be a problem. But Lea told E!’s Chelsea Lately that she was so nervous before she sang at President Obama’s inauguration that she asked a good friend to help her relax.

“Jonathan Groff was my date and decided that the best thing to do before I went on to sing for the president was to make me laugh so hard that I peed my pants, like, everywhere,” Lea said.

Chelsea asked if Lea had to change her dress after the accident to which Lea replied it was much worse than that,

“Oh, we had to change the bed,” she said.
